About
Aparna Taylor M.Sc., ND has a love of nature and learning, and strives to help individuals find a healthy balance on their journey. Growing up in Thunder Bay, she completed her B.Sc. in Biology from Lakehead University, and then took some time to work, volunteer, and complete her yoga teacher training abroad. She pursued graduate education at the University of Calgary, receiving a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in aging muscle physiology, and started her Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) studies in molecular neuroscience. Ultimately, she changed focus from research to healthcare and completed the four-year Naturopathic Medicine program at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in Toronto. The following year, she completed her first preceptorship through the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society (ILADS).
Dr. Taylor considers multiple root causes when evaluating patients, and has expanded her training over the years to better support individuals beyond tick-borne infections. Attending and presenting at conferences in Canada, the USA, and the UK, she values learning from multiple sources, to provide a balanced view to individuals seeking her support. She is passionate about integrating the ever-evolving scientific evidence with the wisdom of ancient traditions, and is motivated to be a lifelong learner in this endeavour when working with individuals. In this partnership, she encourages a balanced approach with practical interventions, evaluating risks and benefits, and incorporating the values important to each person. She hopes to remain curious in learning and in gratitude to be of service to others. She resides and practices in Calgary, Alberta.
"The art of healing comes from nature, not from the physician. Therefore the physician must start from nature, with an open mind."
